Avenue Burger Challenge
Edmonton — meet your final four.
November 1, 2017
This summer, we embarked on a quest to uncover the city’s best burger — and we decided to leave it up to our readers. Thirty-two contenders battled it out in a bracket on our website, and brought in over one million votes in total (and caused the website to crash). This is a city that is serious about its burgers.

This burger, inspired by a staple available at a certain fast-food institution, swaps out a regular patty for two thin, griddled patties, and tops it with American cheese and all the fixings.

The Quebecer at Jack's Burger Shack
Edmontonians have been making the drive north to Jack’s Burger Shack for years, and it’s not hard to see why. If you’re a fan of poutine, this burger that pays homage to a French-Canadian junk-food staple is a must try.

The Downtowner at The Downtown Diner
This spot’s retro diner vibe has earned many fans, and its Downtowner burger is a crowd favourite. It’s a messy one, but aren’t the best burgers always that way?
