Edmonton Welcomes Back Annual Fundraiser Supporting Women Undergoing Cancer Treatment
Syncrude presents Fashion with Compassion is Edmonton’s largest annual fashion show in support of Sorrentino’s Compassion House — a comforting and affordable haven for women battling cancer and undergoing treatment at Edmonton’s Cross Cancer Institute.
“Sorrentino’s Compassion House has made me want to continue. It is so homey, pleasant and upbeat here… like a second home.” - Rose, a Sorrentino's Compassion House guest currently undergoing cancer treatment in Edmonton.
On October 26, Syncrude presents Fashion with Compassion will welcome 1,400 guests to the Shaw Conference Centre downtown for two glitzy events of high fashion, top models, music and more enjoyed over a delicious meal and flowing bubbly. But the true stars of this event are the Special Models. Women like Rose, who were previous guests of Sorrentino’s Compassion House along with other fellow survivors, will take to the stage to represent more than two decades of survival from one of the biggest health threats to women in Canada — cancer.
All proceeds from the fashion fundraiser support Compassion House Foundation. Sorrentino’s Compassion House provides accommodations for only $25 per night, offering an average of $4,000 in hotel savings during a typical five-week stay. Almost 1,500 women have stayed at the home since it opened in 2002.
