The Edmonton Arts Council is hosting a public art picnic in Borden Park on August 24. Meet the artists behind the new sculptures on the footpaths and formal gardens, have a few bites, and enjoy the summer weather.

Flex your creative muscles at a screen stencil workshop

Designer and artist Andrew Benson comes to SNAP for two nights — August 22 and August 24 — to lead a workshop on hand-cut screen stencils. Learn how to craft both simple and intricate stencils from a variety of materials, see how to align and layer them to create multi-coloured prints and more.

Ask archivists and curators your long-held questions

The John Walter Museum is having an event on August 22, in sunny Kinsmen Park, where City of Edmonton archivists and curators will be on site to share unique artifacts and answer any questions.

Sip a local brew as you wander the Valley Zoo

On August 25, The Ark Project, an organization responsible for supporting conservation efforts at the Valley Zoo, is putting on a unique event — ZooBrew. Sip on a locally brewed beer as you take an evening stroll around the zoo while listening to live music.

Get the unique opportunity to dine in the middle of Commonwealth Stadium

Feast on the Field returns on August 23, and if you haven’t been yet, it’s a must try event. Guests are given the opportunity to dine in the middle of Commonwealth Stadium, enjoying food prepared by talented local chefs. The event supports the CapitalCare Foundation.
