Check out a political satire based in Czarist Russia

Director Ron Jenkins joins the University of Alberta’s Studio Theatre for a classic comedy, Nikolai Gogol’s The Government Inspector. The amusing political satire based in Czarist Russia thrills audiences with a case of mistake identity gone spectacularly awry — the production runs from February 9 to 18.

... or a production shedding light on the feminine experience in Africa

Moi, Monsieur, moi!, a co-presentation with Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre and the Chinook Series, comes to the L’UniTheatre stage. This tale follows a young Senegalese girl through her difficult journey to adulthood in Africa. The production runs February 7 to 11.

Chef Stuart Whyte brings a menu to the Victoria Social Room at the Dogwood Café on February 8. Whyte, who is the chef at Dogwood Café and founder of Original Redhead Condiments, has crafted a menu featuring pork tamales, pork lengua tostada, and even a cookie featuring vanilla-lard icing.

Celebrate Galentine’s Day in style

On February 9, stop by The Bamboo Ballroom for their second annual GALentine’s Day Gala. Money raised at the event will go to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
