Rapid Fire Theatre’s Improvaganza has returned for another year, and the highly anticipated improv festival is packed with as much talent as previous years. Improvaganza kicks off on June 14 and runs until June 24. In addition to local talent, there are troupes from New York, Vancouver, Slovenia, Montreal and more.

Stop by the Royal Glenora Club on June 13 for Pinot on the Canadian Patio: A Night of Canadiana, hosted by Nick Lees. There will be live entertainment, a silent auction, food and drinks. All proceeds from the event will go to CASA Foundation.

The Edmonton Pride Festival runs from June 9 to 18 this year, and while Pride in the Park and the Pride Parade take place on June 10, there are plenty of events taking place this week as well. Stop by the University of Alberta Botanic Garden on June 15 for Pride Date Night at the Garden, have a few brews at the Empress Ale House, or hear local LGBT authors sharing their works at Audrey’s Books.

At The Business of Fun: Letterpress Business Card Workshop, which takes place on June 13 and 15, printmaker Catherine Kuzik will show you how to create a business card design with screen-printed patterns and colourful letterpress text.

The University of Alberta’s Faculty of Extension offers a workshop on June 15 led by Alsena White, Knowledge Keeper from Saddle Lake Cree Nation. White will take participants wild onion picking in the River Valley and share personal stories, as well as teach participants about Cree protocols and a few Cree words.
