See circus artists fly through the air — and support a good cause

Firefly Theatre hosts their annual showcase and fundraiser, Let There Be Height: An Aerial Cabaret, on June 7 and 8. The event features professional and upcoming circus artists showing off their talents as they soar, spin and stun — it’s an evening you won’t want to miss.

Fringe Theatre Adventures, 10330 84 Ave., 780-758-9999, tixonthesquare.ca

Take a musical journey to Hogwarts

On June 7 and 8, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is taking audiences to a more magical place — the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The evening’s repertoire will feature music from all 8 films, including compositions by John Williams, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper and Alexandre Desalt.

Enjoy a fair with an eco-friendly twist

If one fair just isn’t enough for the summer — and K-Days seems a world away — stop by this eco-friendly fair on the south side. The one-of-a-kind green carnival, Sustainival, will take place from June 8 to 11 and feature all the typical fair festivities, from rides to mini-donuts to games.

See an exhibition by Canadian artist Tim Okamura

Tim Okamura’s “Begin Transmission” exhibition opened on May 25 at the Peter Robertson Gallery, and will close on June 13 — so make sure to stop by before it wraps up. The exhibition features Okamura’s recent paintings, which explore the power and importance of visual, linguistic, and spiritual communication in a world of advanced technology.

Listen to a French Song Soiree
