Edmonton artist Fraser Brinsmead has put together countless exhibitions featuring corners of Canadian cities, and for his “Iconic Hotels of Western Canada” exhibition, he shines the spotlight on icons including the Hotel MacDonald and Chateau Lake Louise. The exhibition runs until May 4, so go see the masterpieces before they disappear.

From May 2 to 6, Northern Lands will be taking over the Shaw Conference Centre with a packed week of programming. From May 2 to 3, the VinItaly Canada component will allow wine enthusiasts to learn more about Italian wine and spirits in particular. Taste a variety of wines at the il piacere del gusto italiano event, learn about pinot noir, sparkling wines, and the Canadian wine industry at various seminars, and more.

Chris Craddock and Theatre Network bring an interpretation of Miriam Toews’ work Irma Voth to the stage. In the tale, Irma and her sister live in a Mennonite colony, and when a famous filmmaker and his crew arrive to shoot a movie, she is inspired to blaze a new creative trail. The show runs until May 7.

May 4 marks the kick-off of St. Albert’s 15th season of ArtWalk. The Perron District is transformed into an outdoor studio and gallery, and art lovers can experience the unique atmosphere the first Thursday of every month from May to September.

New Music Edmonton and Pro Coro Canada are joining forces to perform Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Stimmung on May 5 and 6. The unique piece is designed with six vocalists in mind, and is an aural experience you won’t want to miss.
