Stylized comfort food from an all-female kitchen

Belgravia Hub’s executive chef, Sarah Masters-Phillips, says that the restaurant isn’t here to re-invent the wheel, but to offer a mix of Canadiana and comfort food. And the choices are elevated to the level of what she refers to as “stylized comfort food.” The menu, which already boasts fan-favourites such as blackened chicken and baked goat cheese, changes seasonally, although the favourites stay throughout the year. Masters-Phillips says that the restaurant sources local items whenever possible. And only the best products are used when it comes to supplying its menu, which is a culmination of culinary offerings from owner Leslie McGlennon and the restaurant’s kitchen staff. “We’re an all-female kitchen, which is a rarity in this industry,” says Masters-Phillips. “And we all pitch in to make the best menu possible.” (7609 115 St., 780-756-3344, belhub.com)
