More than a dozen Edmonton Oilers players plus several rookie prospects threw their celebrity support behind a fundraiser for the breakfast program at St. Alphonsus School on September 26. The occasion was a fashion show at Vinyl Retro Dance Lounge on Jasper Avenue.
The third annual Block to Shop Fall Fashion Show was organized by merchants on 124th Street, including Schoena Strudwick (co-owner of Yo Mama Maternity and the wife of hockey player Jason Strudwick). Shannon Tyler from Magic 99 emceed the event for a crowd of more than 225.
Local jazz singer Krystle Dos Santos laid down sultry vocals and DJ Mike Thomas took care of the beat, as models previewed fashions from five of 124th Street’s boutiques. The bash raised more than $4,000 for the inner-city school’s breakfast program.

Incorrect Name of Model re: Block to Shop
I thoroughly enjoyed the Block to Shop fashion show and not just because my daughter was a model for Yo Yo Mama. The clothes from all stores were fantastic and the money raised went for a wonderful cause.
The model appearing as Juliana Kreitz is actually Amanda Clark. Amanda is an employee of Kaj Clothing.
