Chef Daniel Costa had just opened up Corso 32 when this Q&A, about his fashion and food, came out in March 2011. Already, Edmontonians were hearing about his legendary arancini balls, regional/seasonal menus and the three-week wait to get in. Since then, both the chef and the restaurant won more accolades, including a spot in the 2011 Top 40 Under 40 and EnRoute's prestigious list of Canada's Best New Restaurants.
In December, we decided to love, not loathe the cold by pointing out 25 ways Edmonton is made more fun in the winter. Alternative title: How to Beat Winter At Its Own Game (credit Jennifer Fisk for that).
This moving profile in January of fantasy-fashion designer Natasha Lazarovic tells of how she moved from the streets to the catwalks. This inspiring story went beyond her Temna Fialka label that dares to re-imagine clothing.

But the June cover story about how four Alberta investors helped make one of the most controversial American movies of the year (directed by Kevin Smith) was not one of the Top 5 most read articles on AvenueEdmonton.com. Instead, it was the followup blog the writer posted, which got retweeted by Smith and found thousands of unhappy readers from across the world.
This wasn't a surprise. Legions of fans wait 11 months a year for our 25 Best Things to Eat list every March. Avenue's staff is currently editing and shooting 2012's issue, which will also include our inaugural Edmonton's Best Restaurants list.
