5 Things To Do: December 24 to 28

This Christmas, walk, dance, sing, drive and volunteer!

December 21, 2018

Nutcracker, Shumka style

A truly Edmonton Nutcracker, this holiday classic is produced and performed by local artists. This luxurious and uniquely powerful production features ballet, folk and character dance in a celebration of Tchaikovsky's beloved score, and runs on December 22 and 23.

Sing in the rain (surrounded by snow)

Watch the "Greatest Movie Musical of All Time" faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends, Betty Comden and Adolph Green, from their original award-winning screenplay in Singin' in the Rain, until December 30, at Festival Place.

Take a Muttart Light Walk

Experience magic as you walk through the Temperate Pyramid at the Muttart Conservatory. There will be a variety of light installations that will light up the space and transform it into a winter wonderland. Check out the illuminated sights until December 27.

Spin your wheels in a winter wonderland

Go for a 2 km “drive through” in your own car on Castrol raceway under hundreds of thousands of vibrant LED lights and animations (with an appearance from Santa himself!) A portion of proceeds goes to 630 Santa's Anonymous and Canadian Tire Jump Start, and engines run until January 5.

Edmonton has a great group of charities that need help year round, but what better way to get in the Christmas spirit than volunteering over the holidays? From soup kitchens to food packing and delivery, help make sure no one in our city has an empty stomach over the holidays.
