Go for a stroll to see various street performers like the Trollsons, stunts from Emily Elf and the National Stiltwalkers of Canada. Along the way, keep an eye out for log sawing competitions, axe knife throwing and ice sculpture carving.

Sure, you may have run a race or two on foot before — but have you ever raced in a deep freezer? For this quirky event, hop into a deep freezer with attached skis for a race like no other. Get ready for the fans to gather and cheer — the event is a festival favourite.

The festival is filled with live entertainment. There will be plenty of traditional dancing and musical performances all over the festival grounds to see. Don’t miss out on the Canadian Fellowship Round Dance at the New Moon Pavilion on Saturday night.

Let the games begin
Many memories are to be made at the Ice Kingdom. It will be packed with fun games like frozen Xs and Os, a bean bag toss and jam can curling. While you’re there, strike a pose on the Giant Ice Throne or ride down the Giant Ice Slide.

Celebrate Saturday night at the fireworks
After an afternoon of winter fun, head on over to Alberta Avenue Park to watch the fireworks. The show is scheduled to begin at 6 pm and is sure to be a blast.

Join the street hockey tourney
Gather some friends and gear up to play Canada’s favourite winter sport. Teams will be competing all weekend in a round robin tournament. The championship game is set for Sunday evening to see who wins it all.
