5 Record Stores To Check Out In Edmonton

April 16 is National Record Store Day – pick up some new favourites at one of these local spots.

It may be more convenient to store all your music digitally, but there’s something to be said for the distinct experience of playing great tunes on a record player, and the character that vinyl imparts. This year, National Record Store Day falls on Saturday, April 16. Why not browse one or more of these local spots and find a few new favourites?

Listen Records

Located on 124 Street, Listen Records has been around since 2001 and offers a selection of records from various genres including funk, soul, groove, folk, indie rock/pop, punk and more. For Record Store Day, they’re bringing back a popular giveaway – one customer will win a limited edition Rega Queen turntable. Music fans can also expect exclusive releases, goodies, live music, coffee and donuts for the early birds, and 20% off most new and used records, gear, and accessories.
