5 Outsourced Turkey Dinners to Be Thankful For

If you don’t feel like cooking on the big day, don’t worry — these spots have you covered

For most people, Thanksgiving is a day of rest and relaxation. For the host, however, it involves handling giblets, slaving over a hot stove and never having enough chairs. Take some of the stress out of the holiday by letting someone else handle the dirty work; less time in the kitchen means more time to spend with family, so consider these five options when you’re planning your turkey day feast.

Share at Westin

The Westin’s Share offers two weight classes of turkey based on the size of your dinner table: a $450 bird that feeds 8-10 people, or $525 for one that’ll feed 14-16. Both include dessert and all the fixings: stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad and autumn root vegetables, with gravy and cranberry sauce to go on top. And there are plenty of options to enhance the meal, from carving to the addition of a baked aged cheddar mac & cheese to extra everything. Pick it up on October 11 or 12 and chow down.

Fairmont Hotel Macdonald

The Hotel Macdonald is preparing a 5kg ready-to-serve roasted turkey for $350, big enough to feed 6-8 people. Like the Westin’s offering, it’s accompanied by stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce and dessert, but also includes a butternut squash soup. Orders must be made seven days ahead of time – if you missed the deadline you can still check out the Thanksgiving menus at the Macdonald’s Harvest Room, Confederation Lounge and Empire Ballroom.

Sunterra Market

Besides the standard turkey, which comes precooked and carved, Sunterra gives you the options of Bourbon mustard ham, roasted prime rib with Merlot Jus and a Turducken Roll with Cran Brioche stuffing. All meals include sides, dessert, fruit, cheese and tea or coffee. Prices range from $31.99 to $40.99 per plate.

Creations Dining Room and Lounge

If you feel like going the all-you-can-eat route, Creations is having a Thanksgiving dinner buffet on October 11. Highlights from the menu include whiskey barbecue pork chops, garlic wasabi mashed potatoes and a chocolate fountain for dessert. Bring your appetite and leave the dishes for someone else to deal with for the price of $34.95.

Teddy’s has been around for almost 80 years and, in that time, it’s perfected the art of the turkey dinner. It also has the distinction of being the most inexpensive meal on this list: for $18.95 you’re treated to a mix of white and dark meat with turkey gravy, accompanied by all the trimmings you’d expect. Finish off with a hand-made dessert be thankful for all the time you didn’t have to spend in the kitchen this year.
