Foodie Favourites

From mom-and-pop operations to fine dining, these celebs list their faves.

Beryl Bacchus, director, Global Visions Film Festival, and Avenue Top 40 Under 40 alumna, Class of 2012

Cafe Tiramisu on 124 Street has great gluten-free pasta dishes and they are very community oriented. I also love the Highlevel Diner, and their gluten-free perogies. How do you find that? The Bodhi Tree Burger at Noorish is an amazing chick pea patty with an even more amazing lettuce cashew sauce.”

Chris Craddock, writer and star of Super Channel’s Tiny Plastic Men

“There’s a place in my ‘hood, Lan’s Asian Grill. It’s in a mini-mall by the NAIT campus. My wife and I go there for the great green curry and the pad Thai. It’s great for spice junkies. Since the new ownership took over in [February 2009], the food has been kicked up to an impressive degree.”

Erin Isfeld, CTV Edmonton

“At Chop, I love the dcor, plus that is where I met and got engaged to my husband – but not on the same night! At the Cactus Club Cafe, my favourite thing is the double braised pineapple hoisin short rib. [PiccoLino’s] penne lino and a glass of white wine on a Friday night with my girlfriends is the best night out.”
