Only two years old, the annual Harvest Celebration is fast becoming one of the area’s most elegant affairs – and the Enjoy Centre, the most elegant host. It was, appropriately, a fundraiser for the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, named for the famed gardener whose family owns and operates St. Albert’s Enjoy Centre, and for which $215,000 was raised. With the help of 430 guests, the Sept. 22 event beat last year’s sum by nearly 25 per cent.

Organized by the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, the funds go toward Dr. Sue Ross’s research in mature women’s health, which she says is “an underserved area of women’s care.” Though, truly, the concert by a cappella group 6 Minute Warning and the six-course meal (dessert wine pairing, and all) curated by Chef Gail Hall and catered by the Westin‘s Jeremy McKinnon were incentive enough for the $500 ticket.
