The Must-Try Burger at China Burger BBQ

So, what is a burger, anyway? It used to be that it was a beef patty served in a bun. But then came the chicken burger and the fish burger and the veggie burger and, well… you get the idea.

Now, we have the China Burger (Rou Jia Mo), which is an entirely new take on what makes a burger a burger, at least for Edmonton. So, when out pub hopping on the strip, China Burger BBQ might be worth the stop. On page one of its very thick menu, you’ll find the item for which the restaurant is named. Rule one of eating at a place for the first time: If the restaurant is named for a specific dish, you order that dish.

If you’re looking for a new go-to comfort-food item of the winter, the China Burger might be your thing. It’s rich and it’s filling. But, is it a really a burger? Does it matter?
