As fashion disciples await, with bated breath, for the runway fashion and beauty trends to make their way to the street, Walkemeyer has already been living, eating and breathing the newest looks for months now. “We saw some incredible things this last season that challenged the status quo of what we know within the institution of fashion,” says Walkeymeyer. “It’s all about embracing individuality, which I find super exciting.” With the influx of a rainbow of colour being introduced into the face palette, particularly on the eyes, Walkemeyer is also seeing those colours show up in beautiful metallic textures.

As for achieving each of these fall beauty trends, Walkemeyer advises not being so deliberate when applying colour; try out different tools and brushes and play with the palettes. A gentle diffusing of product is an easy way approach application to achieve a more natural look, Walkemeyer shares: “Soft focus the tones on your lips, eyes and cheeks in order to amplify the natural shapes and contours of your face.”

Heavy Metal

“Heavy metal eyes are a bold way to add a saturation of colour in a new way,” noted Edmonton makeup artist Nickol Walkemeyer shares. “This twist on the traditional smoky eye was seen on the runways this year.” Simply adding a metallic sheen (Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in Bette) to a smoky eye (Charlotte Tilbury Color Chameleon eyeshadow stick in Black Diamonds) gives it a very seductive and stunning glow.

Get Whimsical

Things can get a bit whimsical this autumn by adding a beautiful wash of colour to your daily look. “Any hue you can think of is showing up in palettes this season – I’m partial to sea foam, canary yellow and vibrant purples,” states Walkemeyer. “I’ve used the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Rebel and the Bronze and Glow Contour Palette in Light to Medium to achieve that stunning wash of colour.”

Perfect Pout

The perfect pout is attainable with deep and rich berry-hued lips. Walkemeyer used Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in Glastonbury and she says that, by wearing it bold or stained, this berry lip instantly “sophisticates a simple and clean look.”
