Frida’s Dream

VISUAL ARTIST: KEON COURTNEY
DESIGNERS/MAKERS: LIZZIE SINN/VICTORIA WRIGHT
CONTRACTOR: REVINGTON RENOVATIONS

Her reality stands out in harsh relief against a beautiful dream of colour and whimsy.

Come catch a glimpse of our dream inspired by the life of Frida Kahlo, who gave us permission to express ourselves on so many levels.

Frida spent her life refusing to hide from difficult subjects and rejecting the ‘normative behaviors of the time. She painted what she knew; herself, her pain and agony, all the ways in which she had NOT been fulfilled. In her lifetime she was a freedom fighter, a feminist, a fashion icon, and blurred the lines of sexual identity and cultural norms. From her perspective, life should be lived to the fullest no matter the obstacles, women should be who they are, you should not deny yourself love or power wherever you find it.
