Explore the colourful chalk art that’s being created by artists until August 4 in Eastwood. Or unleash your creativity and add your own masterpiece to the collection.

Eastwood has just gotten a lot brighter. Between July 21 and August 4, chalk artists are colouring the streets of Eastwood with chalk murals and visual poetry. The “Chalk It Up in Eastwood” initiative is presented by Arts On The Ave, in collaboration with the Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse, Eastwood Community League, Alberta Foundation for the Arts and Edmonton Arts Council.

For those who wish to take a walk in the neighbourhood, and explore the finished art (or see it in the making!), you can follow Arts On The Ave’s Instagram stories for updates and locations where you can find each artwork.

Chalk bundles and stencils will be available at the Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse — so you can pick one up and add a little colour to the neighbourhood yourself. In addition, anyone who posts a photo of their chalk art and tags Arts On The Ave on Instagram will be entered to win 1 of 3 $20 gift certificates.
