Make This Mother’s Day Special From Home

You may not be able to take your mom out for dinner this year, but you can still find thoughtful ways to make this day special for her at home. These local businesses offer Mother’s Day dinners, gift sets, and high tea, available for pick-up and delivery.

Black Pearl Seafood Bar 

The eatery has all-inclusive Mother’s Day packages available for delivery. You can get a “cook at home” box full of house-made pasta, sauces, a Prosecco selection, along with a flower bouquet for your mom. You can order it by email.

The restaurant currently offers Mother’s Day High Tea, which features over a dozen treats, including Whipped Cheesecake, Rhubarb Tartlet, Sumac Roast Beef, Pain De Mie Devilled Egg, and more. It’s available for curbside pickup on May 9 and 10.

Cafe Blackbird 

The cafe has two offers for Mother’s Day, an Afternoon Tea picnic box or a Brunch Box, both available for takeout or curbside pick-up. The picnic box includes mini-scones, tea sandwiches, cookies, cake, and more. The Brunch Box has muffin frittatas, bacon twists, banana bread, coffee and more. You can order a box online.

The Cavern 

The cheese store and cafe currently offers customized gift boxes for Mother’s Day. You can design your own box or get a pre-assembled bundle of goods gift wrapped. Orders can be placed by email or phone.

Central Social Hall 

Both the downtown and St. Albert eateries offer Mother’s Day take home dinner, complete with appetizer, salad, linguini and Nutella cheesecake, available for pickup. You can browse the menu on the website and pre-order by phone.

The Common

This week, the restaurant offers take home BBQ packs for Mother’s Day. Each pack comes with a variety of meats, a coleslaw and corn salad, rigatoni mac and cheese, and more. The eatery has also introduced grazing boxes featuring assorted cheeses, cured meats, fresh and dried fruit with nuts, which you can get with a bottle of wine. The Common has two types of cocktail kits available for ordering, Negroni and Watermelon Mojito. You can order online through the website.

Fairmont Hotel Macdonald 

For Mother’s Day this year, the hotel offers a take-home menu, consisting of a choice of one appetizer, an entree and a dessert. The signature afternoon tea from the Harvest Room, complete with a selection of scones, desserts and finger sandwiches, is also available for takeout.

Hansen Distillery 

The distillery is currently selling Mother’s Day convertible cocktail kits, available for pickup while supplies last. There’s three flavours available: Chai Chiller, Fraise 75, and Blackberry Whisky Smash.

Reinette Cafe & Patisserie 

The cafe currently offers its High Tea at home, available for takeout and delivery. The tea set includes a variety of pastries, as well as quiches, a banana cream dacquoise and chocolates.

Shojo Izakaya 

Located near Brewery District, the Japanese eatery offers Mother’s Day BBQ dinner sets for sale. The set is curated for seafood lovers, but also includes protein options for meat lovers. Available for pickup on May 10. You can pre-order online.

Toast Culture

The eatery offers Mother’s Day brunch packages complete with Culture Bennys and Buttermilk Waffles. The packages feature a variety of goods from local businesses, such as coffee from The Colombian Coffee & Roastery and handmade macarons from Baked By Bre.

Yummy Me!  

This Edmonton-based beauty and health brand specializes in soap, balm, oil and other body care products. Yummy Me! is currently selling Mother’s Day gift sets, available for delivery in Edmonton and surrounding areas, on May 8. You can order through the website.

Zwick’s Pretzels

The pretzel shop offers Mother’s Day Brunch Boxes, available for pick-up on May 9 and 10. Each Brunch Box includes several bunzels, smoked salmon, avocado, cream cheese, and more. You can order online only.
